Egyptian POWs website is back after nearly a year or less from technical problems and as neglect from my side to be honest. I could not find time to fix these problems except now.
A lot of things took place and happened since the last time I posted here whether in Egypt or the Middle East when it comes to POWs news. Aside from the Galid Shalit and Palestinian POWs swap and from shocking POWs treatment in Libya after the revolution , there are some updates to our file , the Egyptian POWs file.More dark secrets have been revealed through out the past year
Tomorrow is the National Martyr’s day in Egypt and today Field Marshal Tantawy and the military commanders of SCAF and Egyptian army zones put flowers on the tombs of the Unknown soldiers throughout the country. I wish that our Egyptian people will do this next year on their own. I think we should start with schools and teach our students to pay respect to our fallen heroes in wars and in our revolutions as well.
As you have noticed the Egyptian POWs had experienced a couple of tough weeks , it was hacked and I had to restore it again , hopefully insh Allah this will not happen again.
Things are not currently stable in the website , I apologize for any inconvenience.
There are lots of news ,stories and photos coming soon in this website , so please wait for more updates to come 🙂
During the times of wars it is a normal thing that the news and the photos coming from the war zone is filtered , media is very powerful double edged weapon in time of war that can affect the people’s spirit whether positively or negatively , if you search in our modern history you will find out that during the times of war even the biggest democracies in the world had to censor and filter the news and photos coming from the war zone especially those issued by the enemy.
For that particular reason I am not surprised or shocked that the Nasser regime did not publish the photos the Israelis released to the wire services from humiliating shots to our Egyptian POWs during the captivity. There are many photos in this website Egyptians have not seen for decades , they only heard about their details and circumstance from the 1967 veterans who survived that shocking defeat , for sure the veterans accounts were even much horrible than those photos.
I have never stopped to search for new material from photos and accounts to add to the website and fortunately through our Egyptian groups in facebook I found couple of photos that led to huge patch of photos that have never been published to public in Egypt. I found the photos in Magnum Photo agency . Most of these photos were taken by Israeli photographers who accompanied the IDF during the war like for instance Micha Bar Am
The photos I found are very sad and can be provocative to any Egyptian , you do not have to live during that era to feel how sad to see such moments , seriously I understand why the Egyptian regime then had decided not to publish these photos. (( Of course I am totally against the decision of the regime then to lie on the public in the first hours of the defeat))
I must warn the Egyptian visitors that some of the shots are really shocking
This was just the tip of the ice-berg, already from the photos you find violations to international laws and human rights treaties and agreements.
In 1967 just like Micha Bar Am was in the Israeli side we had our legendary Akhbar Al Youm Photographer Ahmed Youssef was in the Egyptian side ,he shot two set of films while the withdrawal from Gaza and Al Arish yet he hided his camera bag well before his capture in the desert by the IDF , he swore to my grandfather who was his friend and co-journalist in Akher Saa that he hided them well in some kind of boxes that would preserve them from the desert and time. The man till his death wanted so much to get back and retrieve those films because what he shot was a real evidence of war crimes against Egyptian POWs. I wish one day seriously that someone would find Ahmed Youssef’s camera.
BY the way I was very careful in my search for these lost photos because I found some photos that did not belong to the six days war and belong to other wars and other countries ; this was very sad because we do not need this.
Also if you want to save the photos or post them in your website , you are most welcome but please mention the Egyptianpows.net
The world should know what happened back then , we can get back the rights of these men if we want by law.
I do not know what to say except I am sorry that the website is currently facing some strange problems you may have encoutered it lately.Since I upgraded to the New wordpress 2.5 I began to face a strange problem, the sections of 1956 and 1967 are no longer there and they were replaced by 404 Error page despite the fact they are already there. I am trying to fix the problem and I am sorry  for any inconvenience
At last I did it and I translated the Rush Shaked Documentary script from Arabic to English so all the people will understand what was said in the controversial Israeli documentary. I translated from the origin Arabic script I found in my Cruel World blog.It is very important because according to it that is the Second Israeli confession of committing crimes against the Egyptian POWs in 1967 after the veterans confessions of committing war crimes in 1956 against our POWs from Militaries and civilians. I am sorry if there were mistakes in the Hebrew names but you must know that all that delay was to check from the names and to write it correctly ,I tried as possible to check from the names several times and some of them from those who appeared in the documentary turned to be from the important officers in the IDF as you will know The documentary and what was said in it are the solid proof against the claims of the director of the same director of the documentary who lied and said that the Egyptians were not mentioned in the documentary !! Well ha can say anything especially when the documentary was never shown again , also it is a solid proof against the claims of the Shaked battalion veterans who denied that they had killed any Egyptian pows during 1967 You can find the script in English here please spread the news Again if you find any mistakes in the Hebrew names please tell me and I will correct them
At last I was able to upload the fantastic episode of popular TV show on Dream TV2 “10 PM” with the Egyptian POWs to Veoh.com
This episode is very important ,the guests were former Egyptian POWs in 1967 and citizens from the Al-Arish city
It is in Arabic language for now
These clips were added to the the video section which I made some changes for it ,so it won’t be over crowded , the 10 PM Special Episode with the Egyptian POWs is now in the Dream TV section in the video section , I also made a special section for the “Rush Shaked” documentary for its importance

Second I am working on two interesting doumentaries ,one of them I promised you to upload from several months but I could not due to its large size but thank God I am working on minimizing it ,it is the special episode of popular TV show “10 PM” with the Egyptian POWs Veteran , the second ,well the Second is a surprise , huge one and I thank My dear O2A for helping me to find it
Sorry for the lack of updates but please pardon me because I am not feeling well these days but here I am , back with very ,very important updates
First of all thanks to my dear Friend O2A I was able to get my hands on the historical important documentary produced by Egyptian Dream TV channel “The Day has passed” , the important parts in the documentary about the six days war regarding the POWs including the very important testimony of Osama El-Sadak the 67 and 73 wars veteran and other former pows ,these clips were added to the Films section with the permission of O2A
I can’t say how much I am happy to find these clips ,unfortunately they are in Arabic but I promise you that I will translate the summary of what was said in them , because it was very important
Another update but not as big as the previous one I added three photos to the photos section two of them is from my own private Collection from a book my late grand father owned from 1967 that wasn’t available in Egypt
